With this device you can measure the cabling for shortcomings. You can use this to test all 8 wires in the UTP cable. If the meter indicates that a wire is not good, this may indicate a cable break or the most common is that the RJ45 connector is not properly assembled. In addition, you can also measure COAX cabling with this cable tester. In addition, the cable tester can also identify on which wires POE is controlled (1-2,3-6 or 4-5,7-8).
